I've only done one commission and I probably wont do another one until I am much more comfortable with my abilities and I have a reliable resource for fake fur, feathers, etc. It's difficult to know what my end result will look like when all I am starting with is wire. On top of that finding material that looks like what people want is hard. Like for this one that was the ONLY gold fake fur I could find and it wasn't as long as the commissioners character.
But it is really cool to bring a character to life, I'd like to do it again some time. Maybe in the future.
i went into making one, i dont have a proper fabric for it yet, the wire grame is finished along with some taping, now i´m sculpting.
the part i dont understand is How i attach the fur, i found no tutorial showing it either
i sewed fleece tubes aroudn the wire and sewed the fur onto that. its just had when u close it around the legs, especially tail to make the thick white net of the faux fur not so visible. i tried a few different stitches, its not perfect but its my first try after all x3 [link]
