White Pearl Ring Dragon

Description

TL;DR version: I surprise myself. This guy is for sale: [link] I really love fluffy things.

The evolution of my "pearl dragons" is starting to amaze me. I never thought I'd get so much use out of the pearl paint, white fur, and feathers I bought. Which is a good thing I suppose since I still have a lot of white fur left...

It's really fun to think back on it and how much happened by chance. Nothing really turned out like I planned. I originally wanted a dragon that would wrap around my neck that I could wear to a ren fair or something. So I went and bought all the materials. I originally wanted pearly scales and feather wings that would rest on my back like my own wings, but then I couldn't decide if I wanted legs or not. And then when my feathers arrived they were much smaller than I thought they'd be.

Then I made my peal dragon sculpture to test the paint and decide what to do.

I decided I wanted legs, but then I couldn't figure out how I was going to wire legs and the body of a dragon long enough to wrap around my neck. At that point I figured I'd better make a normal posable doll.

Then people on facebook expressed their dismay at the high price, so I decided to try it without legs.

And then this little thing was created! Who originally looked much more like my wrist dragon with horns and an attempt at neck and tail fluffy, but I accidentally broke some of the feathers and when I tried to remove them, I removed a bunch of paint and material. It really looked like a pile of mess. Then I simplified it to make it look better. The crown is actually hiding some of the worst damage, but now I couldn't imagine it without the crown!

I still want to go back to my original idea and make a neck dragon. With wings. I just need to find the proper size feathers.
